Join Tom for a foraging session in the Tennis Preserve, covering both forest, meadows and shoreline. Afterward a light meal will be prepared with the plants, mussels and locally made bread.

We are very excited to partner with the Deer Isle Hostel to host forager Tom Seymour. Tom lives in Waldo, Maine and grew up hunting for wild edibles. Join him for a foraging session in the Tennis Preserve, covering both forest, meadows and shoreline. Back at the Hostel we'll look for edible garden weeds and afterward a light meal will be prepared with the plants, along with mussels and locally made bread.

Tom is a freelance writer, book author, naturalist and forager and presents seminars and classes throughout Maine. His author credits include Wild Plants of Maine (2010, 2013) and Nuts And Berries of New England (2013). Co-sponsored with Deer Isle Hostel.
