Join Brighid in the kitchen making healing soups that will build your immune strength and help conquer colds and flus. Delicious and healing ingredients will be blended together to make soups that not only taste good but will nourish you through the winter.
Garlic, ginger, onion, shiitake, miso, bone broth, astragalus, thyme, oregano and more will be discussed, chopped, simmered and eaten in tasty combinations. You will learn specific healing properties of these and other ingredients and the best way to prepare them. May your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food!
Brighid Doherty is an herbalist residing on Deer Isle. For the past 22 years Brighid has worked with medicinal plants in a variety of ways, studying them, preparing and using them, growing and harvesting them, and teaching about them. She leads monthly medicinal plant walks at Scott's Landing, hosts herbal spas, and teaches a variety of herbal workshops.
