ICEC  (Island Culinary and Ecological Center) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching people the joys and benefits of healthy eating and cooking utilizing regional products while supporting a sustainable environment

PROGRAMS

This fall, we will sponsor:


• An Heirloom Apples class at Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School,

• An after school cooking club,

• Adult education cooking classes for beginners (Cooking Local in Season) and

• Adult education cooking classes for advanced enthusiasts using the best of local produce and seafood

• We will contribute matching funds, as we did in 2008, to support the preservation of the School Health Coordinator position for the Deer Isle - Stonington Elementary School.

• The first annual Edible Island Conference which will including prominent speakers and exhibits, excursions to local producers for demonstrations of cider, chocolate, bread and pasta making, Eddie's Underwater Theater and photo exhibits. Lunch for the conference will be provided by Four Seasons Farm with applesauce and other surprises made by the Heirloom Apples Class and cooking club at Deer Isle Stonington Elementary School.
