WHO WE ARE

We are people who love to cook, and to eat great local food at home, in restaurants, and with friends. We want to inspire others to do the same, while expanding educational and future job opportunities for young people in the culinary, ecological and hospitality arts.

GOALS

 • Create a high level cooking school which will provide real life training and expanded options for future jobs to students aspiring to culinary excellence.

Partner with the Deer Isle - Stonington schools in projects based on the real pleasures of growing, cooking and eating healthy, natural local products, both in school and after school.

Increase local awareness of the unique culinary resources in our own backyard, and demonstrate how to cook and eat them.

Work with local farmers, fishermen and non-profits to support sustainable food and ecological practices on the island.

Support the evolution of the island as a culinary destination

• Sponsor special events, conferences, excursions and community dinners using the best of every season local product from land and sea.

• Encourage young people to appreciate, cook and share the pleasures of local healthy food with others.

• Sponsor scholarships for young people interested in a future in the culinary arts integrated with principles of sustainability.

• Sponsor workshops and exhibitions.
